Background:

Romania Education Alliance (REA), the country’s first private school network, has enrolled over 1,000 students in its first year. REA helps private schools grow with funding and support while keeping their own identity.

REA schools offer a complete educational pathway from kindergarten through high school, with instruction delivered either fully in English or through English–Romanian bilingual programs. Current enrolment is distributed across all levels: 14% in kindergarten, 36% in primary, 26% in middle school and 24% in high school.

The curriculum blends Romania’s national framework, authorized by ARACIP, with global programs such as the International Baccalaureate Continuum and Cambridge International Education, providing students with internationally recognized qualifications.

Co-founder and CEO Anca Macovei Vlăsceanu said the network’s early success demonstrates a clear need for a structured, high-quality platform in the private education sector. “We provide schools the support and resources they need to grow while ensuring that every community maintains its character. Our priority is to offer students excellent teachers, strong academic foundations and pathways that prepare them for future studies both at home and abroad,” she noted.

REA plans to grow to 2,500 students, with 40% of growth from expanding current campuses and 60% from adding new schools. REA will open over 15 schools in cities like Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Brașov, and Constanța, with investments of more than €20 million. REA provides modern schools, quality programs, and help for studying abroad.
